This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Coast Guard, Shore Infrastructure Logistics Center (SILC), Business Operations Division (BOD), Business and Information Services Branch (BISB), Norfolk, VA.
Duties
The incumbent will serve as the Business and Information Services Branch Supervisor. The position functions as a senior level management advisor to the Business Operations Division (BOD) Chief and SILC Deputy/Commanding Officer on matters relating to business process analysis and information services.Being a civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Qualifications
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level (in the federal sector). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and ability tosuccessfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line work. Examples of specialized experience include: analyzing business practices to develop user information requirements into a database application; experience in operations, maintenance, and repair trades/practices required to maintain facilities and equipment in order to plan, estimate, and schedule facilities and equipment maintenance, repair, and minor construction work; planning, direct organizing, analyzing and monitoring projects from inception to completion of final delivery, interfacing with line managers, program managers, and contractors to ensure production is completed and timely and a quality product is delivered.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
