About the Position: You will serve as the subject matter/technical expert on specific functions in support of the CJIS Cell to include supervising the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), NLETS and the FBI's Interstate Identification Index (III) for Army law enforcement (LE) offices worldwide.
Duties
Assists the Chief, USACRC and CSO in maintaining Army LE biometrics policies and procedures.
Supervises state-of-the art training for Army LE personnel using biometric technologies in the performance of official duties.
Coordinates activities necessary to support the USACRC CJIS Cell to develop and maintain the Army LE Biometrics Program which includes, but not limited to, gathering and analyzing biometric usage data.
Provides biometric maintenance support to the field.
Exercises full supervision over the department with full authority to commit department funds, resources, and personnel to a particular course of action.
Ensures compliance with DoD policies and procedures and the FBI CJIS Division Security Policy for biometrics collection, storage and use.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Motor Vehicle Operator’s License is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Drug Testing is required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: assists in determining requirements and timelines for the accomplishment of major criminal history reporting programs; provides biometric maintenance support to the field by troubleshooting and providing assistance in resolving problems; and assists in the inspection of electronic transmission and storage of criminal history information to ensure compliance with DoD and FBI policies for data encryption and handling of Personally Identifiable Information (PII). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GS-12).
