You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/NETWORK) in the IT OPERATIONS (Code 1041), INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION, CORPORATE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, PORT HUENEME DIVISION.

Duties

You will serve as Branch Manager providing administrative, operational, and business management support services and effective and efficient execution of branch business processes. You will provide management and oversight of the staff performing server and network infrastructure operations. You will plan, resource, and oversee projects relating to Server and Network Infrastructure sustainment, operations and upgrades. You will perform personnel administration and budget requirement definition and control. You will oversee the installation, testing, maintenance, and upgrading of network operating systems software and resolution of network problems.

• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing server and network infrastructure requirements to manage projects, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity and network policies and processes. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
