About the Position: This position is located within the Materiel Systems Organization (MSO) in Warren, MI, Security Assistance Management Directorate (SAMD). the Materiel Systems Organization is one of the Department of the Army's premier support organizations. The MSO encompasses TACOM's total life cycle acquisition responsibilities, providing functional and technical expertise for disciplined program and contract execution.
Duties
Serve as the Senior Foreign Military Sales Logistics Management Specialist.
Provide advice and assistance to foreign country, the U.S. military advisory group in country and contractor logistical personnel in the deployment of an operable and maintainable system.
Identifies, integrates, and monitors activities of acquisition, production, comptroller, product assurance supply, transportation and maintenance as well as outside organizations and activities required to provide logistics support.
Assures that timely and adequate logistics support information is developed for use in negotiation and contracting actions, development and coordination of material fielding and plans/fielding agreements.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly.
- Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics Acquisition Level 3 (Advanced) Certification within 48 months of entrance on duty.
- This is a Non-Key Security Cooperation Position. The position requires DoD SC Workforce (SCW) Certification. Must complete certification in the SC Area of Concentration within the timeframe of 3 years.

Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes; 1) experience reviewing governmental foreign policy in order to identify diplomatic issues and provide feedback; 2) assisting with managing the integrated logistics support elements throughout the life cycle of the system (production, transportation, product assurance, acquisition, etc.); and 3) providing logistical support involving a variety of vehicle/weapon systems (combat, construction, and material handling equipment); 4) Experience utilizing government logistics management systems, Defense Security Assistance Management System (DSAMS) and/or Centralized Integrated System for International Logistics (CISIL). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Specialized Experience GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes; 1) experience managing Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Cases in Security Assistance/Foreign Military Sales programs including managing and coordinating development of the total package approach philosophy to manage program development, execution, and sustainment of a major FMS partner or multiple FMS partners; 2) Experience utilizing Defense Security Assistance Management System (DSAMS), Centralized Integrated System for International Logistics (CISIL), and/or USASAC Common Operating Picture (COP). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

GS-13 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
Selection can be made at GS-12 or GS-13 grade level.
