About the Position: This position is located at the 88th MDG, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. -Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. -Student Loan repayment may be authorized.

Duties

Directly assists commanders in the management of all administrative personnel support program functions. Responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and deposition of required administrative reports and other correspondence. Assists with personnel operations to include enlisted and officer evaluations, military leave, permanent change of station processing, retirement and separations, promotions, off-duty employment program, awards and decorations programs, etc. Orients new personnel regarding the basic functions of the organization, introduces them to key personnel and schedules their initial training/orientation requirements. Disseminates information concerning new or changed procedures/regulations. Oversees suspense's of personnel products with squadron point of contacts. Responsible for Government Travel Card program, Defense Travel System (DTS), drug demand reduction program, military dental health program, medical special pay contracts, basic allowance for substitute (BAS) and subsistence-in-kind (SIK) programs.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing administrative reports; utilizing automated systems to track personnel; and maintaining office records/files of various types. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as business or health administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer LiteracyInterpersonal SkillsSelf-ManagementTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
