THIS IS AN INDIANA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is in the Excepted Service under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA) This position is part of the IN JFHQ IN Facilities, Indiana National Guard under Position Description Number PD#T5211000. Duties

Receives verifies and coordinates approval of all initial ARNG requests for construction and maintenance/repair projects. Provides guidance on the development of facilities operations and maintenance methods, standards and techniques. Implements the Army Energy Program, Energy Savings, and Energy Conservation Investment Program. Coordinates fire prevention and protection activities, and identify security and fire safety equipment requirements. Plans and schedules work in a manner that promotes a smooth flow and even distribution. Conducts facility inspections to determine condition of property. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
• May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
• The employee will be required to take a drug test.
• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
• Work may require access to classified information. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
• The incumbent of this position description must have at a minimum, a completed National Agency Check (NAC) prior to position assignment.
• Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
• The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
• This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of equipment maintenance work, or skill in reading engineering drawings and specifications, using test instruments, making computations, and keeping records. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months education or training which demonstrates the knowledge of, and skill in applying, a comprehensive range of principles, concepts, and practices concerning equipment, facility, or service operations with complicated technical requirements that have no clear precedent or plan. Experience overseeing and implementing a program involving the identification and resolution of difficult issues or problems. Experience preparing budgets based on plans for maintenance, repair work, new construction alteration projects, replacement of existing equipment, or increase in services and processes to ensure program effectiveness. Must have at least 12 months specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level experience. Education

You may combine education with specialized experience to meet the length of experience requirement for GS-11. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
