About the Position: Incumbent serves as the Department/Division point of contact on instructor certification in all instructor requirements/training. Possesses subject-matter knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and methodology pertaining to operations and the training of new instructors sufficient to instruct subordinates.
Duties
Incumbent is expected to obtain, select, and utilize the most effective instructional materials, methods, and techniques.
Incumbent assists in resolving technical and administrative problems when there are changes in Army doctrine, policy, schedules, technology, student workloads, facilities, equipment and or instructional methodology.
Incumbent serves as the Department/Division point of contact on instructor certification in all instructor requirements/training.
Incumbent is responsible for coordinating Division planning on the advent of new equipment training (NET) or systems; coordinates and provides training when applicable.
Incumbent serves as the Department Quality Assurance Officer; validates credentials for certification or accreditation (TRADOC and ACE) including verification that the requirements of the accrediting organization are met.
Reviews Performance Work Statements, prepares acquisition packages, and reviews contracts and associated modifications to ensure conformity.

- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience demonstrating a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., evaluation of training results, observing and evaluating training, managing electronic records and training schedules. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Logistics, Adult Learning and Leadership, Education, Supply Chain Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
