This position is a Secretary (Office Automation), GS- 0318-7/8 working in Sacramento, California for the R8-ARD-Office of Communications. The full performance level of the position is GS-8.

Duties
As a Secretary (Office Automation) your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Calendar and Schedule Administration: Prioritizes and schedules activities for the supervisor, ensuring that appropriate representation of internal staff, Federal, state, and public officials are present.
Obtains transportation reservations, arranges hotel accommodations, obtains special authorization, when necessary, completes and submits travel vouchers, and notifies organizations and officials of visits. Maintains current knowledge of Federal Travel Regulations.
Meeting Support: Makes necessary arrangements for conferences, meetings, teleconferences, and video teleconferences, including space, time, people, etc. Assembles background and conference materials for supervisor use.
Correspondence: Receives, reviews and routes incoming mail.
Based on brief notes, verbal instructions, and through own initiative, composes correspondence relating to office activities, including preparing and distributing memoranda to key personnel.
Utilizes a variety of software systems (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to accomplish work assignments, using judgement in selecting spacing, arranging material and ensuring proper punctuation, grammar, spelling, and capitalization.
Performs a variety of administrative support functions for the regional program office to include fleet and records management, property and space issues.
Initiates preliminary purchase requests (PPRs) for procurement of services, supplies, and materials.
PCS INFORMATION:
Yes, entitlements for payment of basic moving expenses, as required and to the extent allowed by the Federal Travel Regulation (FTR) 302-3.101, are authorized for eligible applicants changing duty station when the change meets the distance tests as provided in FTR 302-1.1 and 302-2.6. All moving expenses are taxable. In addition, relocation discretionary entitlements May be authorized for this position excluding contractor-provided home sale.

In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualification
Minimum Qualification [GS-07]
One full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-06 in Federal service demonstrated by being office clerical or administrative support for an office. Qualifying specialized experience includes providing administrative support, such as arranging travel, following established administrative procedures, utilizing office automation, reviewing correspondence for accuracy; entering time and attendance. NOTE: Your resume must provide sufficient detail proving you have performed these duties to be found qualified.
Minimum Qualification[GS-08]
One full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-07 in Federal service demonstrated by being the principal office clerical or administrative support for an office. Qualifying specialized experience includes providing executive level administrative support; arranging travel; ensuring time and attendance is entered accurately and submitted timely; establishing administrative priorities; resolving operating problems; utilizing office automation; reviewing correspondence for accuracy; and interpreting guidelines.
