About the Position: Serves as an Executive Secretary for the District Commander and Executive Office with responsibility for managing the administrative support activities of the Executive Office including the provision of highly sensitive administrative support to the Command Group requiring great discretion, trust, and confidence.

Duties
Perform a variety of administrative support duties, such as screening telephone calls, managing higher official calendar, making travel arrangements, and reviewing documents for accuracy in support of the District Commander.
Establish internal administrative control procedures to ensure consistency.
Advise administrative and clerical personnel administrative support matters through written and oral
instructions.

Requirement: Typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes
1) performing administrative functions to ensure office runs smoothly such as maintaining calendars for officials, preparing travel reimbursements, coordinating arrival of officials, or coordinating conferences and meetings;
2) preparing correspondence using office automation applications or systems; AND
3) applying administrative policy guidance and procedures to office tasks.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
