Duties
As a SUPERVISORY OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serve as Deputy Director, responsible for directorate-wide, long-range planning, reengineering, systems development, budget, security and innovative activities.
Manage and direct JECC current and future operations plans, training, exercises, readiness, education and evaluation programs, ensuring a direct link to Combatant Commanders and other Joint Force Commanders.
Serve as "alter ego" for the Director of the Operations Plans & Training Directorate at JECC for planning, organizing, and managing the activities of the Directorate.
Direct, coordinate, and oversee work both directly and through subordinate supervisors; advise staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher level management or headquarters.
Review all manpower and/or organizational matters affecting the Directorate and realigns authorizations and tasks to accomplish changes in mission.

- This position is a KEY position. In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent, or a designated alternate, must continue to perform the duties until relieved by proper authority.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
Managing the development of Directorate-wide, long-range plans, program goals, policies, and procedures.
Directing, evaluating and analyzing the significance and impact of new programs, concepts and methodology.
Evaluating requirements for additional resources submitted by subordinate supervisors, and balancing organization needs with overall mission requirements and resource interests.
Representing Directorate on various boards, committees, conferences, and symposiums.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
