About the Position: This position is under the supervision of the Supply Chain Integration Directorate, Operations Division Life Cycle Logistics Directorate.
Duties
Plans, coordinates, markets, and reviews assigned areas of the logistics program, which encompass the width and breadth of the Major Item and Fleet Management processes.
Manages assignments by insuring that the functional stakeholders plan, program, budget, report and execute their respective portions of the assigned Major Item and Fleet Management program.
Creates, designs and develops plans and coordinates, manages, and reviews assigned areas of the logistics program.
Provides assistance to major items managers in regards to Major Item and Fleet Management and maintains a working knowledge of supply management functions from initial procurement through the life cycle to disposal of the supplies and equipment.
Recommends changes or adjustments to planning documents as necessary and recommends approval as appropriate or indicates required changes.
Formulates projects or studies to substantially alter existing logistics systems, or criteria in logistics support worldwide.
Serves as a mediator in case of disagreement between functional directorate elements involved in the support of Major Item and Fleet Management policy, guidance or systems.
Analyze logistics problems, or conditions associated with weapon systems projects and associated materiel.
Establishes continuing liaison relationships with representatives of LCMC, AMC, and DA community, and supplier base contractors in order to ensure timely and complete receipt of Major Item and Fleet Management policy and guidance.
Provides guidance and direction in all aspects of assigned Major Item or Fleet Management areas.
Requirements

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing logistics programs in the areas of Major Item and Fleet Management; providing customer support and feedback to ensure proper planning, programming, budgeting, reporting or executing of assigned Major Items; performing analysis for problems and special projects covering Major Item Management; preparing correspondence and replies to taskings or studies that impact management of Major Items; and participating in or chairing meetings to discuss and resolve Major Item issues for assigned items. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
