Duties
Group Leader and supervisor to 3 or more staff members. Manages NIST Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Programs, including grants, contracts and cooperative agreements. Leads the development, design, and implementation of academic programs in all scientific disciplines across all units at NIST. Engages and advise NIST leadership on academic policy development. Represents NIST on USG committees and at other fora to advance NIST academic program.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.
or
Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
This position requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 (ZP-4 at NIST) level. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing expertise in academic program management and policy development reltaed to STEM education and outreach programs to include conducting periodic scienttic reviews to evaluate program design and preparing, justifying, and supporting the portions of the budget related to the program; and/or analyzing regulations to resolve compliance issues during project execution.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
