Duties

You will serve as a Mission Support Specialist in the Judge Advocate General of Naval Legal Services Command (NLSC) You will greet visitors, process requests for appointments, receive and relay messages. You will respond to routine and highly technical requests for information. You will independently control and manage all incoming correspondence using established office procedures and knowledge of the organization. You will maintain records, files, and reports in accordance with controlling guidance. You will conduct initial client intake and schedule appointments.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector equipping me with knowledge of common administrative office practices and procedures related to most of the following: legal procedures, litigation, correspondence, maintaining records, files, mail and/or reports, utilizing databases, and customer service. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1) Responding to routine and highly technical requests for information; 2) Utilizing various databases to store, maintain, and track case files; 3) Preparing documents, filings, and case correspondence; 4) Researching, evaluating, and coordinating information to identify and verify all relevant facts in a particular file; 5) Managing case filings and status updates for client files. Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:
Successful completion of bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement

OR

1 full year of graduate level education. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

OR

A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
