Duties
Act as the technical supervisor exercising supervisory responsibility over work operations involving approximately four Materials Handler (MVO/FLO), WG-6907-06
Develop plans and schedules for positions supervised to ensure the timely accomplishment of work on a daily basis.
Establish a good working climate to encourage employees to participate in achieving management goals and promote efficient and economical work operations.
Oversee supply receipt, storage, and inventory accountability for items necessary for the operation of KACH to include medical, dental and veterinary services.
Utilize the automated supply system Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) to maintain accountability of supplies in the warehouse.
Follow all safety and security guidelines, policies and regulations.
Maintain the established quality control program to ensure that only safe and effective medical items are issued, and that defective/suspect medical materiel is removed from use.
Act as the Primary Vault Custodian for the controlled substances.
Act as the TSMP (temperature sensitive monitor program) coordinator for the warehouse.
Ensures storage units are properly labeled and maintained IAW MEDDAC policies, procedures.
Operates a forklift as required and operates a motor vehicle to transport other workers on a weekly basis.
Requirements
- Tier 1: Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
- Work requires the employee to drive a vehicle. A valid state driver’s license is required.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a government license.
- This position is designated as Drug Testing Required. Incumbent is subject to random urinalysis testing in accordance with DA guidelines. Incumbent must complete required DA forms.
- A forklift license is required.
- Position requires the employee to obtain and maintain a Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) certification within 6 months from the employment/entrance on duty date.
- Work requires the employee to obtain and maintain certification on the handling of medical gases within 6 months from the employment/entrance on duty date.
- Work requires travel away from the normal duty station on a minimal basis.
- Work requires protective clothing (ie: safety shoes, gloves).
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 pounds in the regular performance of duties.
- This position requires completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform duties of the position.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Material Handler Supervisor (MVO/FLO) ~ without more than normal supervision. Identifying and/or examining hazardous or toxic medical materials; receiving, storing, issuing, shipping and/or inspecting equipment; receiving and/or accounting for all shipments; conducting observations and inspections of materials and substances in accordance with regulations; and unloading a variety of items using material handling equipment such as hand trucks, dollies, forklift and trucks - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT/REQUIREMENTS: Often stands on hard surfaces for extended periods of time; bends, stoops, and works in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries items that weigh up to eight kilograms (70 pounds). Heavier items are moved with weight handling equipment with assistance from other workers.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is done inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted. Regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock or mechanized work areas. May be exposed to dust, dirt, grease, solvents, and high noise areas while working in a mechanized work area. May be required to wear protective clothing such as hard hats, steel toed shoes, rubber gloves, masks, and rubber aprons. Drives motor vehicles in all types of traffic and weather conditions.
