Duties
This position serves as technical authority and provides support on DLA’s hybrid Storage Area Network (SAN/NAS) environments, Backup environments and Disaster Recovery Environments.
Provides technical leadership on projects, to include, scope management, business analysis, technical review, design, and quality assurance, on time and within budget.

Analyzes specifications and requirements to ensure completeness, as well as functional and technical feasibility.
Oversees and reports on the status of assignments and projects delegated to subordinate project members and contracted resources.
Assures all hardware and software requirements are planned for and satisfy all program resource forecasts.
Conducts functional user group meetings to determine accurate storage allocation needs.
Monitors software and hardware contracts to ensure that adequate maintenance services are completed, and related contracts are maintained and renewed within required deadlines.
Ensures all changes to production products follow IT Change Management processes and procedures.
Works closely with all Defense Logistics Agency programs to ensure seamless integration and compliance with program goals for solution releases.
Maintains operating manuals/procedures and life cycle documentation, in accordance with Agency guidelines.

- This position and any future selections from this announcement may be used to fill various shifts located within J6 Information Operations.
- Position is subject to callback, occasional overtime and, as required, emergency overtime.
- Incumbent is required to carry and respond to pagers and/or cell phones.
- Shift changes may be required during heightened INFOCON periods and includes B or C shift during such periods.
- The tour of duty changes during heightened INFOCON periods which could also result in weekend work.
Qualifications
To qualify for an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/INFOSEC), your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
- Developing and translating project requirements and technical information in both written and oral form for use by other employees.
- Defining, developing, designing, testing, and implementing information technology solutions.
- Research, design, selection, administration, integration, and sustainment of hybrid Storage Area Network (SAN), NAS, Backup, and Disaster Recovery environments.
- Research, design, selection, administration, integration, and sustainment of Storage Area Networks.
- Research, design, selection, administration, integration, and sustainment of Disaster Recovery.
- Research, design, selection, administration, integration, and sustainment of Backup Solutions.
B. Education: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience.
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
