You will serve as an IT Specialist (CUSTSPT) in the Business Operations Division of NAVSUP AMMO LOG CENT MECH.

Duties

You will coordinate with NAVSUP ACTR Lead to develop and deliver support activities and events required to meet IT needs throughout NALC. You will perform strategic planning, cost benefit analysis, budgeting, program execution, technical support, and provide process improvement for NALC IT products and processes. You will provide, facilitate, and coordinate resolutions of on-site technical issues on behalf of users and the NMCI contractor. You will make recommendations in situations where the NMCI helpdesk is unable to resolve problems.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume should demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to the experience demonstrating the four competencies above, you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the duties of an IT Specialist (CUSTSPT), and and possessing a detailed knowledge of the characteristics of computer hardware and software systems. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following: 1) Reviewing IT-Related purchase requests and contracts to ensure feasibility, viability, and that all security requirements are met; 2) Advising high level personnel with regards to IT requirements and IT security matter; 3) Developing IT security training to present to command personnel on both NIPR (unclassified and CUI) and SIPR (Classified) IT Security requirements; 4) Identifying and resolving IT hardware and software issues in both unclassified and classified networks and facilities; 5) Managing assets and identifying/correcting issues on both unclassified (NIPR) and classified (SIPR) IT assets simultaneously across multiple geographic locations and in a secure environment/collateral spaces; and 6) Researching and evaluating hardware camera, microphone, and other IT communications hardware for use in collateral (secure) environments.
