About the Position: This position serves as technical expert, analyst, and advisor to the Commanding General (CG), Army Material Command (AMC).
Duties
The incumbent is responsible for developing, planning, coordinating and implementing complex strategic programs/initiatives/activities for AMC CG.
Assesses AMC's plans and activities that may have an impact on AMC facilities, organizations, and resources (to include dollars, manpower, physical facilities, and capital equipment).
Serves as the lead analyst and principal advisor to the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Materiel Command (one of 4 Army Commands) in the development and coordination of the CGs strategic level engagements and trips.
Possesses strong written and verbal communication abilities to include development of a comprehensive Strategic Plan, Information Papers and reports, and presentations.
Researches, analyzes, and prepares remarks, note cards and similar products for delivery by the Commanding General and as required by the DCG or EDCG.
Analyzes AMC Missions and Functions to identify Core Capabilities that are essential to meeting Command responsibilities.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing, planning, coordinating, integrating, leading and implementing initiatives; independently leading efforts on special studies and/or projects; high levels of interaction with staff offices and activities such as Department of the Army, Army Commands, Major Subordinate Commands, private industry and academics. Experience in strategic planning, life-cycle logistics and strategic messaging to facilitate command synchronization efforts. Possesses strong written and verbal communication abilities to include development of comprehensive strategic plans, Information Papers, reports, and presentations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
