You will serve as a Training Specialist in the Service Shop (Code 990), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will coordinate procurement, storage, and the use of instructional materials and textbooks, audio visual aids, training devices, and laboratory equipment.
You will develop, schedule, and implement programs for the development of personnel through Continued Training and Development Programs.
You will maintain a database of Code/Shop CTD Proficiency Course Schedule on an annual basis to include mechanic, course to attend, and date and time.
You will support the Code/Shop CTDL with preparing Proficiency Course Material, handouts, mock up support set up.
You will establish metrics to identify material costs expended by each Fiscal Year for Overhead Expenditures/Labor Expenditures on a monthly basis.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience assisting in the administration of a Continuing Training and Development (CTD) Program.
Experience using various training methods to devise an employee development and training program.
Experience assisting in the performance of audits on shop trade theory/core tasks and qualification records.
Experience in assisting identifying material costs, overhead expenditures, and labor expenditures.
Experience using instructions such as RADCON and NAVSEA for instructional guidance for both nuclear and non-nuclear ship repair projects.
Experience interpreting data for planning work, modifying methods and techniques used in assignment scheduling, replacement of equipment, supplies, and training equipment.

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
