About the Position: This position is with the 4th Mission Support Element, 4th Expeditionary Sustainment Command located in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Duties

Serve as an advisor on matters such as: training, administration, supply, maintenance, public relations, resource management and recruiting. Create innovative plans to maintain the unit(s) mobilization readiness. Exercise managerial oversight of a military command budget. Perform quality control over the Command and higher headquarters created programs. Resolve major employee grievances or complaints. Conduct performance evaluations for employees. Supervise the daily activities of both civilian and military full-time staff. Identify training needs of employees to meet mission requirements. Develop Command-wide policies to increase effectiveness of operations and functions. Organize the Commands financial/resource management programs. Sustain liaison with other Commands and external agencies. Assign work priorities to align with organization's mission objectives.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementKnowledge ManagementLeadership Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
