Duties
Provides best practices and development of management techniques, coordination and directing the administration, design, development, installation, testing and operation of the DLA Enterprise IT systems and initiatives.
Analyzes Automated Information Systems (AIS) outputs and prepares, develops, and tests Detailed Functional Requirement (DFR’s) necessary to implement changes.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with Continuity of Operation plan enterprise section.
Serves as senior functional expert and consultant concerning the development of AIS and major subsystems for departmental level administration.
Serves as principle advisor and subject matter expert concerning UNIX operating system including installation, development, maintenance, and support of UNIX server infrastructure.
Responsible for directing subordinate Information Technology (IT) staff in support of DLA Enterprise systems.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Supervisory IT Specialist (SYSADMIN), your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Makes decisions at the departmental level and provides oversight on the installation and maintenance of server infrastructure and enterprise application software.
Develops and tests IT enterprise applications in support of component mission in accordance with customer requirements.
Analyzes data outputs concerning system and application performance and makes suggestions on how to improve operations and production.
Explores new approaches and develops advanced management techniques relative to product development including but not limited to UNIX operating systems architecture and system architecture design.
