About the Position: Serves as a Budget Analyst located in HQ U.S. Army Material Command, Deputy Chief of Staff, Resource Management, G-8, Resource, Acquisition and Support Division, Redstone Arsenal, AL
Duties
Responsible for the preparation of budget justification statements, consolidated budget estimates, analysis of costs and preparation of funds status reports.
Formulate and prepare all required schedules for assigned portion of the Headquarters (HQ), Army Materiel Command (AMC) operating budget.
Review annual appropriations and authorization acts to determine whether changes in public law will impact on administration and execution of Headquarters, Army Materiel Command (AMC) budget.
Review Program Budget Decisions, Comptroller General Decisions and Budget Circulars to identify impact of changes on budget administration and execution.
Provide funding guidance to the Army Materiel Command (AMC) Commander and Chief of Staff on all phases of the budget cycle and the impact of the budget status on AMC national and international programs.
Monitor and review obligations, expenditures, reimbursable orders, request for allotments, etc. through examination of accounting records.
Requirements

- This position requires Financial Management Certification Level 2.
- This position requires a Secret Security Clearance.

One year of specialized experience which includes preparing budget justification statements; assisting with the development of long and/or short range fund requirements; utilizing budget/financial systems such as General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) to prepare financial reports; and consolidating budget estimates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
