Duties
As a READINESS PROGRAM SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the principle advisor specialist on all readiness and deployment activities related to assigned forces.
Monitors and tracks individual, collective, and unit training and exercises.
Manages command inputs into Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS).
Manages and maintains command and subordinate unit Joint Mission Essential Task Lists (JMETL), (JMETS), and mission assessment.
Manages readiness instructions, policies, standards.
Facilitates periodic readiness and training briefs with higher headquarters and subordinate elements.
Coordinates deploy and redeploy notification sequence and ensure personnel and resources are synchronized to facilitate rapid deployment.

- This position is a KEY position. In the event of a crisis situation. the incumbent, or a designated alternate. must continue to perform the duties until relieved by proper authority
- This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions
- Travel and relocation expenses, if approved, will be paid IAW JTR and AFMAN 36-606
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
Working with deployment readiness programs in order to prepare planning guidance, identify issues affecting deployment readiness, and to develop and implement sound and viable strategies to mitigate those issues.
Preparing and presenting high-level, recurring briefings and reports involving deployment readiness, training, and exercise activities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
