About the Position: This position is under the supervision of the US Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command (TACOM), Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC), Soldier & CHEM/BIO R&S Directorate.
Duties
Plans, directs and coordinates the execution of sustainment functions associated with the acquisition, distribution, and disposal of the assigned weapon system(s).
Manages all aspects of assigned weapon system(s) sustainment. Establishes a sustainment strategy.
Oversees the development of an acquisition strategy for all components/elements of the assigned weapon system programs.
Ensures cohesive and comprehensive acquisition strategies are developed and executed by scheduling, leading, and directing actions of required Integrated Product Teams, Best Value Acquisition Teams, etc.
Manages supply functions associated with the sustainment of assigned weapon systems.
Manages/coordinates/executes all aspects of single Stock Fund and National Maintenance Programs that apply to assigned weapon system(s).
Coordinates as appropriate with PMs/contractors/customers/other organizations to ensure effective supportability analysis/logistics management information is in place and fully analyzed.
Organizes and conducts regular weapon system reviews with the weapon system team, Group Leader, and CBU Director to identify sustainment problems and ensure established milestones are being met.
Exercises decision authority on controversial/complex sustainment issues to include forecasts, prepare, and submits sustainment support budgetary requirements.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) supply planning within automated logistics systems such as Logistics Modernization Program (LMP), Army Equipping Enterprise System (AE2S), Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A), Army Enterprise Portal or i2Log; 2) performing oversight over assigned systems; 3) implementing new or improved practices to improve customer service; 4) interpreting, understanding, applying logistics and sustainment policy; 5) leading projects and people; 6) Technical Manual validation/Technical Manual verification; 7) understanding in provisioning new items into the Army Supply System and sustainment Bills of Material or Manage and execute depot production and repair programs; and 8) managing development of sustainment budgetary requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
