Duties

You will provide senior leader seminars and engagements designed to build collaborative working relationships with regional organizations. You will identify required resources in order to produce quality and cost effective information sharing and research products and processes. You will participate and contribute to concept development working groups of subject matter experts. You will provide technical guidance and oversight of branch personnel. You will develop country specific disaster management planning reference handbooks, disaster response situation reports, information papers, etc.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret/SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may be subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing work that develops, coordinates, and facilitates information sharing and research products. Examples of specialized experience include most or all of the following: 1) Demonstrating knowledge of disaster management and humanitarian assistance operations and best practices; 2) Reviewing and approving concepts, briefings, presentations, planning documents and conference materials; 3) Establishing program objectives, developing long-range plans or identifying required resources in order to produce quality and cost effective information sharing; 4) Providing subject matter expertise by initiating and establishing policy and standards of quality; 5) Providing feedback regarding assignment of work, development of performance plans and ratings, or performance expectations; 6) Developing disaster management planning reference handbooks, disaster response situation reports, information papers etc., and participating in information sharing working groups.
