Duties
You will provide subject matter expertise in the development and facilitation of Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance training objectives, actions,
conditions, and standards.
You will develop and facilitate training and education initiatives related to international humanitarian assistance and disaster preparedness strategies.
You will participate in disaster response planning and support during disaster response operations.
You will provide planning expertise in support of long-range operational and resource management plans.
You will collaborate with external agencies to address challenges and opportunities related to DMHA training and education programs.
You will work with regional groups and organizations to coordinate disaster management and humanitarian assistance support.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience performing work equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following:1) Collaborating with organizations to foster partnerships and support Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance education, training and capacity building engagements;2) Developing and facilitating humanitarian assistance, disaster preparedness and best-practices for cooperation in responses to humanitarian emergencies;3) Providing technical support during disaster response and humanitarian missions.
GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience performing work equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following:1) Preparing position papers and decision briefings of broad scope in the areas including disaster mitigation, response, and education and training initiatives;2) Providing subject matter expertise in the development and facilitation of Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance training, education and capacity building events;3) Participating in Planning Groups as required to assist in response planning;4) Providing planning expertise in support of operational and resource management plans.
