Duties
You will provide expert technical consultation services in support of the submarine force.
You will support in the analysis and resolution of operational, maintenance, installation, design, SUBSAFE and logistics problems which degrade performance and operational capability of assigned prototype on in-service systems.
You will participate in investigations and report system problems of failures, identify cause for failure and recommend corrective action.
You will develop and review engineering proposals and design changes and provide recommendations based on failure knowledge and maintenance practices.
You will conduct Reviews and evaluations, and recommend changes to system design improvements, maintenance documentation and life cycle support logistics products.
You will Coordinate In-Service Engineering (ISE) Industrial Team efforts in the installation of improvements or accomplishment of emergency repairs.
You will Train or direct/advise submarine force and maintenance personnel in the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of systems, sub systems and SUBSAFE components.
You will Develop and review training curriculum, prepare formal lectures/presentations at service schools.
You will review Liaison Action Requests (LARs) to NAVSEA and PY for any design deviations.
You will conduct depot level pre-arrival, in-progress, and completion inspections for systems on submarines scheduled for and undergoing overhaul.
You will provide technical input into controlled work packages, assist with conducting mic verification, resolve issues related to repair of SUBSAFE components, coordinate resolution of SUBSAFE documentation discrepancies.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Directing the repair, schedule, and installation of Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) Submarine Sail Systems. Examples of Qualifying Experience may include working in navy ship industrial work environments; familiarity submarine sail system maintenance and fleet activities and relationships; communicating and providing briefs to peers and external organizations; understanding and interpreting navy drawings and schedules; demonstrated understanding of safety guidelines in ship industrial environments; demonstrated use of basic quality assurance principles.
