You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the Naval Facilities and Expeditionary Warfare Center (NAVFAC EXWC) of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CENTER.
Duties
You will identify information system security risks to implement risk mitigation strategies.
You will assess information technology (IT) programs to confirm performance objectives are met.
You will develop strategic plans to govern agency wide information security programs.
You will evaluate network devices to verify established information assurance (IA) procedures are met.
You will conduct operating system security evaluations to verify compliance with information assurance (IA) requirements.

Qualifications
For the GS-12 position: Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following: 1) Administering and maintaining the organization assessment and authorization (A&A) process using the Risk Management Framework (RMF) 2) Coordinating, compiling and maintaining all assessment & authorization (A&A) documentation for appropriate accreditation authorities; 3) Evaluating, recommending, implementing, and disseminating IT security tools, procedures, and practices to protect information assets; 4) Providing input in drafting information systems security documentation (e.g. systems security plans, risk assessments, disaster recovery plans, business continuity plans, user security guides); and 5) Writing specifications to meet IT security requirements at the applications, devices or network server level. **NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency must include: Diagnose application software problems in response to customer reported incidents. 3.Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency must include: Brief senior leaders on new database technologies and architectures.4.Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency must include: Investigate existing information technology systems to identify potential issues. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Carrying out activities leading to security certification or accreditation; 2) Conducting integrated analysis of multiple audit logs (e.g., firewall, Web server); 3)Participating in identifying and writing specifications to meet IT security requirements at the applications, devices or network server level; and 4) Participating in identifying and writing specifications to meet IT security requirements at the applications, devices or network server level. **NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume.

I have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
OR
I have successfully completed 3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
OR
I have a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience. Percentage of education plus percentage of experience must equal 100%.
