About the Position: Position may be filled as a Temporary Promotion or Detail not to exceed 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary Promotions or Details may be extended up to a maximum of 5 years and may be made permanent without further competition. Position may be filled as a Temporary Appointment not to exceed 1 year, if candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Temporary Appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three years.

Duties

Coordinate with Logistics Management Specialists and other members of a project team to schedule work orders and communicate daily and weekly schedule requirements from the master scheduler to the shop supervisor. Provide the production shops with monthly requirements, ensure the schedule is reflective of shops capacity, skill and manpower, and communicate off schedule conditions and downtime problems that affect productions ability to meet the schedule. Monitor compliance of the schedules and identify schedule discrepancies so decisions can be made on any off-schedule conditions. Maintain inventory of stored assets, and ensure assets are available to deliver to prime work center in accordance with appropriate directives.

OR Education: Four years of education above high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond 2 years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the 2 percentages. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level which includes: 1) Verifying an organization's capacity with members of a team such as planner and supervisor; 2) Supporting the development and execution of production schedules; AND 3) Verifying funding, availability of assets, and parts availability reports that can be used to develop production schedules. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the 2 percentages. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level which includes: 1) Using available data and project information to determine if projects are on schedule and within established budget limits; 2) Communicating with work leaders and supervisors to ensure monthly schedules can be achieved; 3) Monitoring cost and schedule discrepancies so decisions can be made on off-scheduled projects; AND 4) Verifying available capacity with production planner and supervisor. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the 2 percentages. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 level which includes: 1) Reviewing documents such as production schedules, production orders, and project documents for accuracy; 2) Revising production schedules when required due to changes in design, labor or material shortages, or other delays impacting production; 3) Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, and data collection to identify and assess impacts to production schedules; AND 4) Developing specific goals or milestones to monitor projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond 1 year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the 2 percentages. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level which includes: 1) Independently monitor and control project cost, quality and schedule, and ensure projects are complete with pre-established schedules; 2) Reviewing and distributing production, work, and schedules; 3) Communicating with department employees and supervisors to determine progress of work and projected completion dates; 4) Compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems; AND 5) Applying principles and tools of project management to assigned projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
