You will serve as a TRAINING COORDINATOR within NAVY SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties

You will performs long and short-range planning projects in conjunction with the subordinate commands. You will establish annual goals and objectives to ensure training realization based on redefinition of broad objectives, annual program changes, Department of Defense and Navy policies, and Fleet requirements at all levels of classification. You will serve as the primary training consultant for the Fleet Activities Support Team (FAST), and assists in establishing the FAST position on all matters pertaining to the collective training, training development, and individual training. You will coordinate and integrate the analysis of a wide range of documents to determine the impact on training, training development, and individual training. You will provide initial, annual and/or periodic training guidance at all levels of classification to Major Fleet commands, Numbered Fleet commands, USMC Major commands and lower echelon commands. You will provide consultation and advice to the Fleet Activities Support Team (FAST) Manager on any/all issues requiring attention/action. You will perform fiscal, program, and economic management analysis expertise in evaluating Directorate operational readiness and associated support systems.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Training Coordinator specialized experience performing work equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Applying experience with DoN training enterprise; understanding of training terms and practices. 2. Manage a team to create training curricula and conduct updates of training materials to ensure consistent alignment with current directives, policies, and guidelines published by DoD, DoN, and other sources. 3. Facilitating the ability to coordinate with others inside and outside of the organization in order to achieve program objectives 4. Conducting long and short range planning with the ability to resolve conflicts and problems utilizing previous experience and good judgement.
