Duties

Provide the service member, spouse, or family member with FMTS or EFMP forms, initial guidance, counseling, appropriate information for FMTS or EFMP enrollment. Ensure all required documentation is received, reviewed, tracked, and compiled prior to scheduling all family members' individual appointments. Document the encounter in the approved electronic health record for each family member in accordance with Army MEDCOM policy. Responsible for recording and reporting workload data for local and long-distance or remote FMTS’s, routine enrollments, nominative reviews for CONUS assignments. Provide statistical data to the local Family Support Services EFMP Manager. Establish relationships and work collaboratively with these agencies to achieve mission objectives.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • A pre-placement medical examination is required.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes checking patients' eligibility of care and determining the reason for the visit; Using automated health systems to update records into the approved electronic health record; and counseling military personnel and family on benefits. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
