You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of MARITIME EXPEDITIONARY SECURITY GRP 2.

Duties

You will coordinate strategic airlift and/or sealift requirements for the command and component commands in support of routine deployments and redeployments, exercises, training, contingency, and wartime tasking. You will assist in arranging and scheduling command’s passenger and cargo movement requirements through close and continuous coordination with U.S. You will ensure the deployment of personnel and equipment, via military and/or contract aircraft, meets the Required Delivery Date (RDD). You will use automated Departments of Defense (DoD) transportation systems, ensure passenger and cargo transportation requirements accurately entered into Time-Phased Force Deployment Data (TPFDD).

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience planning, organizing, and coordinating deployment and redeployment requirements using DoD automated transportation systems or similar systems. *Experience applying knowledge of the concepts, principles, practices, laws, regulations, and policies of transportation requirements (military and civilian) to move personnel and cargo and of operational plan development to produce schedules. *Experience in dealing with a broad range of operational scheduling and transportation issues (e.g. Hazardous Cargo, Ammunition, Sensitive Communication Equipment, Cryptological devices, Special Operations platforms (boats, craft, vehicles). Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

Successful completion of 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related

or

A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience
