You will serve as a TOOL CONTROL SPECIALIST in the MRO Logistics Division, Industrial Production Support Department of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will monitor and track check-out tools returned by customers.
You will perform inventory of received requisitioned tools.
You will monitor government vehicles' calendar maintenance scheduled and be able to turn in vehicles for service.
You will provide technical and programmatic support in the areas of process development, data interpretation, research, and analysis.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. General experience must demonstrate the ability to: 1) Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; 2) Plan and organize work; and 3) Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Requisitioning, maintaining, controlling, replacing inventory and delivering tools to ensure proper tool control; 2) Interacting with customers to ensure tooling management requirements are met; 3) Distributing and restocking consumables on production floor, monitoring inventory for corrosion or defects prior to distribution; and 4) Resolving routine problems and deviations in accordance with the Tool Control Instructions, policies, or accepted practices.

Education
In lieu of general/specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
GS-05: 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree

A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
GS-07:1 full year of graduate level education
or
Superior academic achievement
or
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
