About the Position: Serves as Security Specialist for the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3, Security Division, in support of the Chief of Security in the execution of multi-discipline security programs, Pentagon, Arlington, VA.
Duties
Provide guidance and oversight of the Information Security and Sensitive Compartment Information Programs in multiple directorates.
Advise Division Chief on matters related to security classification and declassification principles.
Assist with Personnel Security Program in accordance with current laws, regulations, and policies.
Assist with processes regarding the validation and submission of personnel security (PERSEC) investigations, approval of position sensitivity changes, access authorizations, and interim access.
Manage/implement Physical Security Program for multiple directorates.
Represent the Division Chief to internal and external organizations in matters related to the physical security program.
Evaluate the effectiveness of the Information Security and Sensitive Compartment Information Programs in accordance with policy and regulatory guidance.
Monitor and reviews, or conducts initial inquires of security infractions, violations, and compromises.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- Requires up to 25% travel.
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their two years of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes develop security briefings and debriefings to leadership on security matters; conduct security inspections to identify potential risk to organization or facility; and review applications packets for issuing of employee's security clearances. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
