This position is assigned to the Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) Program which includes the Homeless Chronically Mentally Ill (HCMl) Veterans Program, Transitional Housing Program, Contract Residential Program, Transportation Program and the Grant and Per Diem Initiatives in St Louis, Missouri. The primary purpose of this position is to function as an Administrative Officer by providing administrative, programmatic, management support and leadership.
Duties
The major duties include but are not limited to:
Performs work in direct support of an administrative are such as: human resources, budget, procurement, purchasing, management analysis, or operating program analysis.
Provides clerical, assistant, or technician level support from within an Administrative Office or from within a functional component such as the Human Resources Office, the Budget Office, the Purchasing Office, or a comparable setting.
Responsible for day-to-day operations and program planning/evaluation for all HCHV and Social Work programs.
Performs weekly and monthly workload checks to ensure accuracy of the formal/official data records that of annual reports and program summaries, annual inspections of community residential programs and inpatient and outpatient surveys.
Conducts portion of organizational surveys in a wide variety of organizational activities.
The incumbent exercises accountability and uses initiative and judgement in accomplishing program goals.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-6) in Federal service that has equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the Program Assistant position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes ability to interact with people of varied educational and professional backgrounds; maintaining databases and utilizing various software programs; ability to understand and interpret contracts and accounts payable systems; demonstrate creativity to create templates and graphics (Excel) for documentation; exercise independent judgement, using highly effective interpersonal skills; understand and comply with the issues of confidentiality. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.
