About the Position: Serves as Strategic Modernization Planner located in U.S. Army Material Command, DCS, G-3 Operations, Supply Chain Management Directorate in Redstone Arsenal, AL.

Duties

Provide authority on policies, procedures, and regulations governing major appropriations applicable requirements. Collaborates to create comparative reports detailing program costs and mission accomplishments as it relates to funds, manpower, material, and equipment programming. Maintains continuous liaison and participates in monitoring collaborative planning to render advice and counsel on assigned projects. Develops and implements a strategic planning process to identify, analyze, and anticipate the impact of the Command.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance for the duration of the appointment.
  • A one year probation period may be required.
  • TDY travel is occasionally required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: experience in the analysis of activities, projects, and initiatives pertaining to strategic modernization efforts, developing and implementing strategic planning processes to identify, analyze, and anticipate the impact on programs and organizations located in Commands, depots and ammunition plants; conducting management studies for cost-effective organizations, while coordinating program budget decision impacting program initiatives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Planning and EvaluatingStrategic ThinkingTechnical CompetenceWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
