About the Position: This position is located in Department of Behavioral Health at Fort Carson, Colorado.

Duties

Provide support and input for the coordination of administrative services (e.g., scheduling, templates, staffing, and training) performed within the health care facilities or offices. Enter, upload maintain, review, and/or update health care records (e.g., patient data, patient identifiers). Assess patients' administrative needs and provide guidance or assistance in resolving patient concerns. Ability to provide clear and concise directions for patient care.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. A National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) is required.
  • This position requires a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccine and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • This position is inclement weather essential. This means that you must be willing to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
  • This position may require periodic immunizations (other than the influenza vaccine) and tuberculosis monitoring.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes documented/demonstrated experience performing work such as a receptionist, recordkeeping, clerical, and administrative support functions that provided you with the knowledge of clinical procedures involving patient care that included duties such as receiving patients, scheduling appointments; maintaining charts, files, or records; providing information to patients, professional medical staff, and the general public and utilizing a personal computer and office automation software programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsInterpersonal SkillsManagement SupportPatient-focused Customer Service Time in Grade Requirement: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-5 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non temporary competitive appointment.
