Serves as the first line supervisor and assistant manager of the Front-End Department, participates in management of activities and functions. The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of planning, scheduling, coordinating, controlling front end activities and personnel, controlling all funds received and deposited daily. Responsibility includes supervision of all store associates assigned to the store, as well as the sales store checkers and tellers.
Duties
Directs the following work in multiple areas of the commissary.
Front end operations including patron identification, customer inquiries, check out and cash control.
Non-perishable stock control including transporting item and stocking shelves.
Meat display and case stocking.
Produce inspection, display and rotation.
Account maintenance, supply and computer operations.

Requirements

Qualifications
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume (and/or transcript if necessary) must clearly show that you have the qualifications described below. You can use experience, education, or a combination of the two to qualify.
Experience: In accordance with the Group Coverage Qualification Standards for Clerical and Administrative Support positions http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/Standards/group-stds/gs-cler.asp, applicants applying at the GS-07 grade level must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level (or equivalent) by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience may not be substituted for education at this grade level.
Examples of specialized experience include:
Plan, direct or assigns work for employees.
Knowledgeable of multiple departments within a grocery store in order to evaluate work, provide instruction and conduct on the job training for workers.
Carry out daily retail grocery store functions necessary to successfully execute store operations.
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Physical requirements: Frequently lift, push, pull, carry and handle commissary products weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance. Work includes long periods of standing, stooping, kneeling, bending and climbing.
