This position is in the Engineering Services at the Veterans Health Administration Western Colorado. The primary purpose of the position is to provide support to the Maintenance and Operations (M&O) Section.

Duties

Duties to include but not limited to: Maintains and controls all operational accounts for maintenance, fuel (e.g. generators boilers, small equipment), utilities, and operations under M&O Team control. Managing the Engineering portion of several modules within VISTA, including Work Orders & MERS, Space/Facility Management, and Equipment Management. Serves as the VISTA level three Automated Data Processing ApplicationCoordinator (ADPAC) for the Engineering department. Responsible for data extraction using the VISTA terminal environment, SQL based scripts, and maintaining data from other sources to combine, analyze and generate reports from data. Primary key control custodian. Review, edits, and issues supply requisition for technical equipment, office machines, elevators, and any other facility equipment serviced on a contract basis from outside the VA. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Position Description Title/PD#: Program Support Assistant/PD120300 Physical Requirements: The work is dynamic and varied. Work requires sitting, walking, standing, bending, and carrying light to moderately heavy computer printouts, books, papers, and files. Incumbent preforms visual and operational checks to locate sources of trouble and determine the best method for corrections such as in house work order or contacting vendors. Work at this level seldom requires lifting or carrying of items weighing more than 7 kilograms (15 pounds).

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: GS-06 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-6 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience is defined as: Providing administrative support; collecting, compiling and tracking data and information; processing documents and reports; establishing, updating and maintaining office files and records; performing automation duties using such software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail, desktop publishing, calendar, database and/or graphics; maintain and control accounts, managing work orders, receiving calls and answering routine requests, as well as take messages. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level.
