This position serves as the Program Support Assistant in the Organizational Development & Education (OD&E) Department including Library Services. This includes, but is not limited to a variety of administrative, education and clerical duties, which support the work of the program within the VA Western Colorado Health Care System (WCHCS) in Grand Junction, CO.
Duties

Major duties and responsibilities include:
Performing administrative, educational and clerical assistance for elements of the OD&E services.
Responsible for purchasing for all fund control points of department (special purpose, grant and station funds).
Maintaining fiscal documents and concise records in compliance with VHA policy and local procedure.
Administering credit card purchases for OD&E including special purpose and departmental funds, supports in-processing and computer access procedures for clinical trainees, and provides primary timekeeper services for all OD&E employees.
Providing scheduling for select veteran's health education and whole health clinics provided by OD&E employees.
Preparing correspondence covering subject of an administrative nature.
Providing assistance in developing statistical data and special reports, compiling/preparing drafts and finalizing technical papers and/or similar instructional materials in support of the Associate Chief.
Providing documentation editorial and professional writing services ensuring documents have correct format, punctuation, spelling, grammatical accuracy, factual correctness, enclosures, dates, signatures, complete addresses, etc.
Performing other duties assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Qualifications
IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-6 LEVEL YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess 1 (one) year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal service, that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) needed to successfully perform the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to this Program Support Assistant position to be filled. Specialized experience for the position includes utilizing a variety of applications such as word processing, electronic email, calendar, spreadsheets, and databases to perform clerical duties; preparing and maintaining correspondence; scheduling meetings; maintaining a variety of files such as financial records and fiscal documents; handling incoming and outgoing mail. (THIS EXPERIENCE MUST BE SUPPORTED BY YOUR RESUME TO BE CREDITABLE.)

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates.
