About the Position: Serves as Administrative Support Assistant for Army Community Services performing a variety of duties, both standard and non standard, requiring different and unrelated processes and methods, analyzes problems and situations and develops logistical recommendations for corrective actions.

Duties

Receive telephone calls/visitors, ascertain nature of call or visit, refer to supervisor or staff member as appropriate. Utilize office automation systems and software packages to accomplish work. Assist with completion of travel authorizations/vouchers. Receive documents from employees authorizing changes affecting payroll accounts. Perform data entry to update the master employee record, loading new accounting data for fiscal year changes.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience performing clerical/administrative duties such as receiving telephone calls, directing visitors, processing incoming/outgoing mail, maintaining personnel records/training files, preparing requests for personnel actions, assisting with coordination of travel arrangement. Experience utilizing various office automation systems such as DCPDS, ATAAPS, MS Office products. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
