Duties
The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a Program Analyst for Joint requirements integration efforts, providing Force Protection military requirements expertise in the coordination, development, and articulation of HQ USAF Senior Leadership positions on Air Force and Joint operational capability requirements.

Applying Force Protection military requirements expertise
Prepares information on Force Protection equities for senior Air Force leadership decision
Prepares position papers and presents high level briefings of conclusions; many being highly subjective and not readily susceptible to verification until actual operational situations are encountered
Maintains a continuous liaison with other Air Staff, AF MAJCOMs, COCOMs, other service headquarters counterparts, Joint Staff, DoD, and other agencies outside of the DoD to ensure that Force Protection operational requirements planning is consistent and integrated throughout the defense community

- This is a Centrally Managed Position in the Operations Career Field. PCS will be paid in accordance with JTR Vol. 2 and applicable Air Force Regulations
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
- Air Force military command and control, and/or air, space, and cyberspace operations experience is highly desirable
- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. (cont'd)

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions series, 0343.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes mastery of advanced management and organizational principles and practices and a comprehensive knowledge of planning, programming, and budgeting regulations, guidelines, and processes; and a thorough knowledge of Air Force's planning, acquisition, and management process to provide planning, programming, and budgeting process (PPBS) support to long-range Air Force plans such as war, mobilization, exercise, deployment, and similar operations planning efforts; Knowledge of military command structure, missions, programs, and organizational relationships and program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions as related to actual events; Knowledge of the various command entities involved in overall planning and execution of operations and evaluations
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Expert knowledge in the Air Force's, Sister Service, or other DoD Agencies' Force Protection career field or enterprise effort and background in irregular warfare operations.
Knowledge in the application of Air Force and Joint Capability Integration and Development System (JCIDS) requirements processes, and the Strategy, Design, Planning, Programming, Budget and Execution (SDPBBE) processes
Comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of airpower plans and procedures for conducting major operations such as war, military operations other than war, mobilization, and deployment.
Knowledge of airpower program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions as related to actual events.
Knowledge of the relationship of the various Air Force entities involved in overall planning and execution of military operations and evaluations. Skill in coordinating complex and challenging issues at the Higher HQ/COCOM/Strategic level senior leader action and decision.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills in the preparation and presenting of issue papers and briefings for Senior Leader action and decision. Ability to negotiate complex issues and maintain good working relations.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
