About the Position: Serves as the Army manager to develop, coordinate and facilitate ammunition inventory and storage management for Department of Army (DA) and the joint agencies/activities supported by the Army.

Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance
This is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP): Acquisition Corps Membership is no longer required for Critical Acquisition Positions (CAP)). CAP selectees must execute a 3-year tenure agreement.
Position requires incumbent employee to submit a financial disclosure agreement (OGE-450) upon entering the position and annually thereafter.
This is an Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics-Advanced Certification within 48 months of entrance on duty.
This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
This position requires a one year Supervisory/Managerial probationary period.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on ammunition logistics management programs and preparedness. (i.e., acquisition, production, inventory management, stock control, transportation, maintenance, and demilitarization).
- Direct, coordinate, and oversee agency ammunition program automated systems and business processes.
- Evaluate ammunition management operations to assess mission accomplishment and ensure quality standards are met.
- Develop, coordinate, and facilitate the Agency ammunition storage and inventory program.
- Direct work efforts, provide professional development advice/opportunities and evaluate employee’s ability to meet assigned mission.
- Optimize organizational structures to improve ammunition operations and procedures.
- Provide personnel management of the division by interviewing and recommending internal movement and selections for employment.

Specialized Experience: To qualify applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1)develop ammunition automated systems and logistics operations procedures for ammunition management programs; 2) perform ammunition operations and stockpile management studies; and 3) develop new approaches to resolve storage and inventory issues related to production, manufacturing, and stockpile management. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/ level position in the federal service (GS-13)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
