You will serve as a IT Specialist (CUSTSPT/INFOSEC) in the Information Technology (IT) Service Desk/Account Management Office (AMO) Branch (10944), Waterfront and Production IT Support Division (1094), Information Technology and Cybersecurity (ITACS) Office (109) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will provide Account Management for Corporate Application/System accounts, Global Network Security Group creation/access, Navy/Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) and Legacy Network accounts, Public Folders, email Distribution Lists etc.
You will create initial/new accounts, as well as maintenance and deletion of existing account.
You will provide Permissions Management on a need-to-know basis for corporate applications and network accounts, global network groups, NMCI and legacy
network accounts, public folders, and email distribution lists.
You will Manages, processes, and tracks all aspects of network and corporate account management request forms.
You will process and create new Naval Ships Engineering Drawing Repository (NSEDR) accounts, performing account unlocks, password resets, and account deletions.
You will validate and process Intranet Naval Sea Systems Command (iNAVSEA) access requests for valid NNSY authorized users and valid NAVSEA Enterprise users.
You will attend meetings and technical workgroups representing NNSY with members of other shipyards and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) personnel including but not limited to briefing senior level management.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Technical Supp Specialist level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
- This position may require a Shift Work schedule. A Shift Work schedule describes work performed with varying and/or rotating shifts
Qualifications
GS-12
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience implementing an understanding of the Microsoft Windows operating system environment, including Active Directory (AD).
Experience applying expert knowledge and competency in microcomputers (PC), both hardware and software, as well as peripheral devices, such as optical drives (CD/DVD-ROM), scanners, plotters, printers, digital cameras, and backup devices.
Experience troubleshooting methods for analyzing and diagnosing application software, hardware, and network equipment problems and expert understanding of all network components, i.e., servers (both network and corporate systems), routers and switches, and the network architecture used at NNSY for all networks.
Experience communicating both orally and in writing to meet department objectives and management practices to effectively represent the department at user meetings and on various committees or boards.
Experience working with in various software packages available on the NNSY networks, as well as various corporate applications such as Advances Industrial Management (AIM), Supervisor's Desk (SUPDESK), Performance Measurement and Control (PMC), Electronic Facility & Equipment Maintenance (eFEM).
Experience demonstrating expert knowledge in the utilization of the iNAVSEA account request process and the Hewett Packard Cryptographic Log On (HP CLO) Status Management tool.
Experience in the administration of accounts on NMCI Enterprise Tool (NET) and NMCI Service Request eForm (SReF).
GS-11
