Duties

As the Product Manager (PdM), you will lead in the development of an acquisition strategy that serves as the framework for integrating functional activities essential to the acquisition effort and serves as the basis for specific program documents. You will evaluate program documentation to ensure that needs of the program are consistent with sound business practices and the degree of risk involved. You will identify actual or potential problem areas, trends, significant accomplishments, deficiencies, and areas of imbalance with budgeting, planning, staffing and execution. You will utilize an extensive management background to review, analyze and evaluate project development, progress and performance.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing broad program guidance and delegtion of project decision-making authority and limiting of authority within the limits of program objectives and policies.
