About the Position: Serves as administrative assistant to the Commander and the Command Group; participating in the management and execution of the Command mission by performing secretarial administrative control, and action officer duties. Responsibilities require knowledge of all facets of KAHC's programs and policy matters.
Duties
Receive visitors and telephone calls to Commander.
Answer non-technical questions, based upon knowledge of subject matter.
Adjustment to calendars due to unforeseen situations.
Schedules visits and makes travel arrangements as necessary.
Provide administrative back-up for other Command Group administrative assistants.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires employee to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes researching administrative guidance; providing direct administrative support to senior leadership of an organization; maintaining a supervisor's calendar and schedules; managing travel arrangements; screening visitors and calls for an organization; reviewing and editing correspondence; and providing technical assistance to offices. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
