Duties
This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated October 15, 2021.
As a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) at the GS-2210-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Plans, designs, and carries out research and evaluation of next-generation UNIX/Linux/Windows server operating systems.
Plans, designs, and leads efforts to conduct environmental tests of new releases/new versions of operating systems in sandbox testbeds as well as in lab facilities mirroring the DSCA environment
Serves as a project technical lead, responsible for technical oversight of project teams consisting of contractors and government computer specialists.
Coordinates software releases and export procedures with DSCA/military services management, customers, information systems (IS) and communications personnel to ensure that communications options and software are network compatible prior to export to the customer; provides advice and recommendations on the implementation of new systems to be released.
Provides technical expertise in preparing economic analysis, technical specifications, benchmark specification and audit/verification procedures required in support of Information Systems and communication acquisitions

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS 13 , if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
Providing technical guidance, analysis, advice, troubleshooting, and resolution on UNIX/Linux and/or Windows systems.
Plans and designs for tests of new releases and/or new versions of operating systems or equipment.
Identifies and/or defines business or technical requirements applied to the design, development, implementation, management and support of systems or networks.
Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
