THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TRAINING SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0925000 and is part of the NC 139th REG, National Guard.(139TH REG/ MD 1820-007)

Duties

As a TRAINING SPECIALIST, GS-1712-09, you will assist the Training Administrator with the Total Army School System in accomplishing command coordinating authority responsibilities; assist Training Admin with various aspects of operations; review data in Army Training Requirement, Resource System for appropriate input/output procedures, accuracy/quality assurance; use Training Management Systems; ensures the training institute TASS organizations adhere to timelines established by the Training Management Life Cycle; assist in DL Programs; identify/implement required modifications of Programs of Instruction (POI); ensure training support materials/training aids are consistent with POI; review/evaluate training aids ensure their adequacy/consistency with objectives; assist formulation/preparation of training schedules, directives, materials; reference files; maintain liaison with the Army Training, Doctrine Command proponent schools, NGB, TASS to requests training materials/publications to supplement programs; prepare/issue instructor guides; after action reports/critique; plan/schedule instructor proficiency classes; research regulations regarding individual's participation in training programs; primary POC on matters relating to approved ARPRINT conducted; participate in planning/developing training programs; respond to inquiries; prepare projected/annual training budgets; monitor/calculate expenditures, mandays; monitor balance in budgetary accounts; prepare documents for students participation, notify commands of those students who did not attend training; maintain files for OCS Evaluations, Review boards; coordinate with Public Affairs officer regarding press release, media coverage of RTI events; conduct briefings to promote RTI programs; make available to units/individuals various publications; distribution of recruiting materials; printouts of individuals qualified for OCS to unit commanders; coordinate support personnel requirements, acquisition, documentation of proponent/POI required equipment, supplies; maintain statistical data, records in student files; maintain instructional/support files; ensure supporting documents for commissioning of Candidates are provided to proper authority; assist in the management of environmental programs and regulatory requirements; prepare the institute's Energy Conservation Program and ensure compliance with conservation directives; ensure safety programs are implemented/followed; perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Military Grades: Enlisted (E6 to E8), Warrant Officer (WO1 to CW3) or Officer (2LT to CPT) Basic Qualifications: Skill in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Ability to write English in reports and presentation formats. Ability to communicate -orally and in writing- clearly and effectively. Ability to assess body language to ensure positive response and understanding results. Skill in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Each applicant must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. Applicants must have the experiences, education, or training that demonstrates the ability to follow directions, to read, understand, with the ability to retain and recall a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures; and, most importantly for specific positions, must have the competencies (Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Behaviors) to translate specific subjects criteria and information into a teaching/training capability, and. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1 year experience equivalent to the (GS-07) that demonstrated the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Basic knowledge of Army vision, values, organization, policy, and mission is mandatory. Knowledge of training centers, training programs, schools, and units. Policy. Have some experiences in conducting or developing education and training programs. Also, have some experiences conducting, supervising, or developing education or training programs. Basic understanding in the Army education and training policy requirements. Some experiences in working programs to include developmental education, voluntary education, advanced academic education, promotion testing, and libraries. Knowledge is necessary of audio-visual presentation, educational tests and measurements, and instructing techniques. Knowledge of Army education and training programs in regard to their principles, and procedures. Limited experiences in performing interviews and counseling techniques; training techniques and instruction methods; task analysis procedures, learning processes, curriculum development, training evaluations, and education and training systems and products; effective writing skills; editing practices; instructional media application, training reporting, program and curriculum validation, and implementation procedures. Experiences in scheduling training events and facilities; supporting assistance visits and training meetings; or, assisting in work center and individual job qualification standard development; education institution registration requirements; and military personnel classification system and policies. Basic capabilities in communicative interpersonal skill applications and distance learning concepts. Experienced in effective communications. Have some capabilities and experiences in presenting professional courses and briefings; and near proficient capabilities in writing reports and records. Some experiences as a participant and presenter during training and military or civilian conference events. Experiences in organizing and preparing instructional materials. Understands and applies formal training objectives. Able to develop course syllabi, training project outlines, and daily and weekly lesson plans. Experienced in preparing assignments, laboratory exercises, demonstrations, training aids, and references and related material required to parallel and supplement course outline. Experienced in the art of instructing personnel, such as determining the instructional methods for class size and subject matter. Capable of instructing students by lectures, discussions, demonstrations, group activities, and laboratory work. Experienced in using audiovisual aids such as, mockups, graphs, training films, and film strips. Experienced in training aids such as, achievement and aptitude tests and rating scales. Experienced in identifying and conducting individual learning difficulties diagnoses and recommends courses of remedial instruction. Understands and applies basic classroom preparations for effective instruction using controlling factors such as, temperature, ventilation, lighting, cleanliness, and arrangement of desks and equipment.
