About the Position: Serves as Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist of a division within the Security Assistance Management Directorate.
Duties
Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets priorities, and establishes schedules for work completion.
Directs, coordinates, and oversees work of team leaders, provides administrative guidance to contractors, and provides reviews contractual performance.
Evaluates overall performance of subordinate team leaders and employees.
Provides advice, counsel, and instruction to accomplish assigned functions.
Provides guidance to employees in identifying training and development needs.
Responsible for highly technical, complex administrative, and budgetary activities.
Independently plan, organize, direct and control projects, studies and programs having a direct and wide effect on the organization's mission.
Develops plans/recommendations for the development and implementation of policies and procedures that govern the (SA) Security Assistance program.
Evaluates the effectiveness of operation supervised in terms of mission accomplishment, quality and quantity of standards met; procedural, policy and regulatory compliance; and technical competence.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance
- The incumbent must complete certification-related training requirements in the SC Area of Concentration (AoC) within the timeframe associated with the position's SCW certification level: Advanced Level.
- This is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP): Acquisition Corps Membership is no longer required for Critical Acquisition Positions (CAP)). CAP selectees must execute a 3-year tenure agreement.
- Position requires incumbent employee to submit a financial disclosure agreement (OGE-450) upon entering the position and annually thereafter.
- This is an Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics-Advanced Certification within 48 months of entrance on duty.
- This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
- This position requires a one year Supervisory/Managerial probationary period.

Specialized Experience: To qualify applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1)Providing guidance to subordinates who coordinate Security Assistance (SA) programs to ensure actions associated with the SA program are accomplished; 2) Coordinate Security Assistance (SA) plans/recommendations for the command to ensure consistency of goals and operations by providing technical expertise; and 3) Analyze studies, policies, processes, and procedures to make recommendations on command-wide operations and logistics efficiency initiatives. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/ level position in the federal service (GS-13)

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
