You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL) in the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration and Air Systems, Code 252 of SOUTHWEST REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER.

Duties

You will serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) with responsibility for providing technical assistance onboard US Navy ships, functional checks, and material condition assessment of compressed air systems. You will perform special engineering analyses and studies in support of Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet (COMPACFLT) and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) to evaluate improvements in design, maintenance procedures, material readiness conditions, etc. You will prioritize work, resolve conflict, attend and participate in briefings. You will review compressed air systems maintenance procedures, assess material condition, and provide recommendations. You will resolve identified problems with overall system operation and documentation. You will have a primary responsibility of familiarizing ship's force compressed air systems operations providing maintenance personnel technical solutions in troubleshooting finding, etc.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing technical engineering support by analyzing, testing and inspecting mechanical systems to identify issues and recommend solutions to resolve problems with ship maintenance systems and design.
