The primary purpose of this position is to serve as 16 AF Government Special Access Program (SAP) Security Officer (GSSO) to protect the 16 AF Integrated Joint Special Technical Operations (IJSTO) Program from espionage, terrorists, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information or material considered vital to 16 AF and global mission interests, national defense/national security.
Duties
Duty 1: The Senior GSSO establishes and oversees the Special Access and Information Security Program protecting the 16 AF IJSTO activities from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/ or compromise of information or material considered vital to 16 AF mission interests, national defense, or national security.
Duty 2: Directs the IJSTO SAP personnel security program to ensure secure accomplishment of 16 AF missions, lines of effort, goals and objectives through proactive application of security principles, policies, and practices
Duty 3: Provides 16 AF and subordinate organizations worldwide with authoritative guidance on aspects concerning physical security programs for the protection of classified national security information, SAP Compartmented Areas (SAP-CA), SAP-Facilities (SAP-F), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and collateral information
Duty 4: Manages the Industrial Security Program. Provides effective guidance, training, and direction to subordinate assigned organizations/activities/units on industrial security program matters
Requirements

- All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
- Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented
Information (SCI), or involvement in Top Secret Special
Access Programs (SAP) . A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

- Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under

assignments
- Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and Security Asset Protection
Professional Certification (SAPPC) conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date

Qualifications
This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of a wide range of advanced concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices involved in security; security program interrelationships to coordinate the objectives and plans of two or more specialized programs to support and promote information sharing and strategies; skill to interpret a variety of security program laws, directives, regulations, and guidance to assist subordinate organizations in establishing and operating internal security programs; and in the use of analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review, evaluate, and apply several alternatives according to the security requirements for highly specific situations, availability of materials, relationships with other protective programs, and cost/benefit considerations; ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately to a large range of audiences and
working effectively with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
